With all his DYI skills (read: none) Nuno Markl is at it again, this time with paint. He just can’t tell the difference between those two… Max and Mat will guide him in his mystical journey of self-knowledge… and paint!
The concept for this film is pretty much a homage to all karate/martial arts films of the 80s, where Nuno Markl feels right at home. His 3D version also feels at home with Max and Mat, even if not at ease with all the training going on – Nuno is not the physical type nor is his 3D avatar!
We worked hard to make sure this homage would feature vast visual cues and references, from stage elements – dojo, bandanas – to photography itself. The brand’s identity was never an afterthought and it shows throughout – literally.
Two cans of paint (one shiny, one matte) set the stage and help frame Nuno for the vertigo shot that transports us all a couple of seconds later into the 3D environment. Nuno completes his karate-paint training with flying colors!
