A Raposa Chama - The Fire Fox

Sparking ideas

Forest fires are no joke, and a cool, engaging piece was needed to create awareness and promote best practices to the younger generations. So after being given the lyrics, the music and the characters it was music video time!

We took inspiration from 90s rap songs and created a cool choreography while illustrating the very important messages in the lyrics. The result is a funky video clip with a very critical message – Don’t play with fire!

Motion Graphics and Hand Drawn 2D Animation

All the video clip was animated in After Effects save for the chorus, which was done in traditional animation. On one hand that allowed for the use of digital effects and physics systems in some elements which turned out pretty nice. On the other hand, traditional animation for the chorus enabled a great, hand drawn wide angle shot of the characters singing at the camera!

Put that fire away…in time!

In order to get the best results, exploration is always important. As time constraints were a big factor in this project, there was no way to iterate creatively while simultaneously generating several versions of assets. So the team created bespoke procedural systems to generate elements and populate the frame in an always different but visually coherent way!
